These foods contain an enormous amount of chemical substances, most of which come in the form of nutrients. We need fiber and wouldn’t it be better to get that fiber in the food we eat rather than from out of a box? Dietary fiber is only found in plants. On the other hand cholesterol is only found in animal-based foods. There is more dietary fat found in animal-based foods while beta carotene is found primarily in plants along with vitamin C, folate and vitamin E which have much higher concentrations in plant-based foods.
